Willis BARTHOLOMEW was born in Nash County and resided in Edgecombe County where he enlisted at age 36 on 23 Feb 1863, for the war; present or accounted for until wounded in the nates and foot at The Wilderness, Virginia on 5 May 1864; died in the hospital at Charlottesville, VA on 6 June 1864, of “pyaemia.”

Willis Bartholomew served in 15th North Carolina Infantry, Company K from Edgecombe County and enlisted in Rocky Mount on 24 April 1861.
