Enlisted in Wilson County on 8 June 1861, for the war, at age 20. March – April 1862 muster roll carries the remark: “Prisoner of war. Died at Morehead City on 16 April 1862,” at age 20. CAUSE OF DEATH NOT REPORTED.
* Willie K. PERRY, Private. Same regiment and company. Born in Nash County where he resided as a farmer prior enlisting in Wilson County on 1 July 1861, for the war, at age 19. Discharged a Camp Johnson, near Kinston, NC on 27 May 1862 by reason of “epileptic fits.”
