Alfred BROWN, 1st Sergeant. 40th Regiment, North Carolina Troops (3rd Regiment North Carolina Artillery), Company F.

Enlisted in Wilson County on 28 aug 1861, for the war, at age 24. Mustered in as Sergeant and promoted to 1st Sergeant in Jan – Feb 1862. Captured at Ft. Macon, Bogue Banks, NC, on 26 Apr 1862 and paroled. Present or accouted for hrough Dec 1864. NO FURTHER RECORD.


Charles G. BROWN, Private. Same regiment and company.

Enlisted in Greene County on 12 Aug 1861, for the war, at age 24. KILLED in action at Ft. Macon on 25 Apr 1861 at age 24.
